Other Andrew Cullum is a lifelong Encinitas resident known for his knowledge and skill in fine woodworking. Growing up in the tropical paradise of San Diego nurtured Andrew's awareness of beauty and his love of colors, shapes, and design. Therefore, his work reflects a deep appreciation of nature and a coordination of movement and structure. Andrew's love for woodworking has been obvious from his early years, demonstrated by the sailboat he hand-carved at age seven and the junior high first-place recognition for woodworking at Del Mar's Southern California Exposition. His talent for precision and dedication to detail became obvious in high school and was perfected in the advanced studies of technical school. Ten years in the Cedros Design District of Solana Beach gave Andrew valuable business experience. Working with artisans and woodworkers enabled him to broaden his knowledge of artistic design, home furnishings, cabinetry, woodworking, and installations. Andrew's work has been displayed around the world. In 1997, Andrew launched his own business, which is dedicated to preserving traditional wood carving. His style is done by hand with traditional wood carving gouges. This process leaves textures to the wood surfaces that cannot be duplicated with power tools. Andrew's expertise in fine woodworking and his attention to artistic detail makes his work sought after by businesses and homeowners looking for unique custom designs. His furniture, mantels, and hand-carved doors grace some of San Diego's finest homes, from La Jolla to Rancho Santa Fe. They could even be found at home with you. |
